Latest Updates from Our Project:

We've submitted the hardcover for approval on DriveThruRPG

Thank you so much for your patience

Preparing a book for print has been an adventure, but the work is done and now we are awaiting approval from the DriveThruRPG team. Once that is granted I will order a proof, and then we green light these puppies.

Here's a reward for being patient. We've commissioned the Confederate Anthem, the first track on our upcoming soundtrack by composer Matthew Miller.

Anyone who ordered a physical edition will be receiving either the special or regular edition as soon as the proof is approved. If you have a signed copy I'll be mailing that directly. If not, it will be shipped by DriveThruRPG and you'll be paying for it. If we've already collected shipping it will be refunded when you receive your printing code.

If you didn't back, and want to purchase the game, the PDF is available right now. The regular edition of the game will be available in print when we ship to backers, and will include the PDF if you purchase on DriveThruRPG so do wait until then or you're paying an extra $20.

Thank you so much for being a part of this ride. We're just beginning. Next up is the Player's Handbook, with 10 more races, 10 more paths, more spells, divinity rules for gods, and everything else cool we make between now and November. We'll have a Kickstarter up in October.

That content will start appearing on World Anvil this week, beginning with the Adventurer's Guide to the sector. It's a much more granular breakdown of the sector, with more maps, major cities, and a lot more crunch. I'd have loved to get those in the main book, but maps proved a bottleneck. No longer!

There's so much more exciting news that will come in future updates, but I'll end it here until I can tell you that I'm holding a proof.

As a reminder if you are missing any digital rewards please email [email protected]. Everyone should have received the digital game, and if they backed at that level the art library.

Roll20 sheets are available also make sure you have your digital rewards
over 3 years ago – Fri, Aug 21, 2020 at 04:23:59 PM

We're close to submitting the final print version, and hopefully my next update will be the one saying I've ordered a proof =D

In the meantime we're already playing the game. If you haven't received your PDF for the full game please reach out to me at [email protected]. Backing for any physical edition definitely included the digital version!

I just posted a character creation video for the Roll20.net platform, and the sheets used in that video are available in the comments. I kept the video as short as I could, and don't cover the rules listed in previous videos so much as demonstrate how to quickly fill out a character.

If you need other specific resources / videos please let me know! We greatly appreciate your patience, and will keep cranking out resources so that when we finally have our books we can get rolling with campaigns right away.

The digital version is live on DriveThruRPG. We did it. We're real.
over 3 years ago – Tue, Aug 18, 2020 at 06:35:38 PM

As of about 15 minutes ago the digital version of The Magitech Chronicles RPG went live on DriveThruRPG. We're like...a thing. A thing that you made.

The team at DriveThruRPG rocks hard. They've given me an overview of what to expect, and it sounds like the proof version of the game will ship to me pretty quickly, and that once it's approved we can have yours added the queue. Cue? Q?

You'll know the second that's available, and I will work with everyone to make sure addresses are correct as I know some people have moved. A few people have reached out with concerns, and if that's you please reach out [email protected] and we'll get you sorted.

I'm about to pull the trigger on sending the special edition to the list, so you should see that in the next few minutes if you backed. If not, you can buy it on DriveThruRPG =D.

I cannot thank you guys enough. Truly. Thank you.

We just hit publish on the Digital RPG and our Quickstart Guide is live
over 3 years ago – Mon, Aug 17, 2020 at 09:13:49 PM

We just hit publish on DriveThruRPG, and will be live on the store as soon as we clear QC. I'll post a link the second we have it =D. We're also looking into having the book formatted for Kindle, and much to my surprise it's pretty badass on an iPad. You just tap the screen and it auto-scrolls to the next topic heading.

If you've backed you should receive an email from Backerkit this afternoon with the new and final download, the same one going to print. A few paladins were upset that they had no masteries, and war mages were wondering why they'd somehow lost spell riposte.

The Quickstart guide is now available, and you are encouraged to spread the link far and wide. It will bug you for an email address, but then should immediately give you the guide. It's about 60 pages long, and covers everything through character creation. As always hit me at [email protected] if anything doesn't work as expected.

That's the good news. We have a complete game and can play, but I'm still not holding a hardcover copy of the book, and it's making my eye twitch. Sercan had to remove shading from all pages for print, which was more time consuming than he'd expected, but that's not the real delay.

When I loaded the DriveThruRPG print page I was greeted with a new warning that told me to expect a 22 day print delay thanks to the virus that shall not be named. We're seeing what we can do to work with that, but as gamers everywhere need their fix it may be September before we get our copies of the game.

You guys have been patient, amazing, supportive, and creative. So many magic items, spells, gear, and other things have been added as a direct result of your input. We've made something amazing, and I am so grateful. We just have to hold out a little longer.

More news as soon as I have it!

Backers should have just received their copy of the special edition PDF
over 3 years ago – Thu, Aug 13, 2020 at 06:42:52 PM

We have a final PDF folks

Sercan just turned in the final PDF with the last slew of corrections and editions. Version 1.04 will go live on DriveThruRPG on Monday August 16th, though what you'll be able to purchase will have the orange cover if you're not a backer.

If you are a backer you should have received a link to download the PDF. If you have any trouble getting that you can reach out directly to Backerkit, or email me at [email protected]

Publishing 30 novels has taught me that there are always more typos. Please send any you find to me! We can update the PDF at any time, and since it will take ~7-10 days to test print the RPG we have that amount of time to find all issues.

I can't believe we've made it this far. We've got a playable game that's been tested, and that we believe in. You made that happen. Thank you for being a part of it. We've created something incredible.

-Chris

P.S. For those wondering we're already knee deep in the Player's Handbook, and will be Kickstarting that in October. More details to follow. First we want to fulfill all rewards!
